Budimir put Osasuna ahead, but Deportivo responded after halftime and found the winner in the 87th minute.

Deportivo de La Coruña beat Osasuna 2–1 at ABANCA-Riazor on November 2, overturning a first-half deficit with goals by Mario Soriano and Bil Nsongo. Nsongo’s 87th-minute winner completed the comeback after Ante Budimir had opened the scoring for the visitors.

Osasuna’s official match record lists Budimir’s goal in the 32nd minute, Soriano’s equalizer in the 64th and Nsongo’s decisive finish in the 87th. The club’s homepage result also confirms the 2–1 outcome.

A second-half response changes the result

Deportivo’s two scoring moments came after the interval, turning Osasuna’s advantage into a home victory. The late timing of the winner left the visitors with little time to respond.

The official team sheet also records Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang entering for Luismi Cruz in the 69th minute, after the equalizer, while Budimir was replaced by Raúl in the 78th. Those changes provide the confirmed personnel context for the closing stages without replacing the central fact of the result: Deportivo found the final goal.

Hidalgo had asked for greater efficiency

Before the game, Deportivo coach Antonio Hidalgo had made the need to improve in the opposing penalty area a central point of his press conference. He also emphasized the value of playing in front of the Riazor crowd after several league matches without a win.

Monday’s score supplies the clearest response to that pregame priority. Deportivo scored twice after falling behind and converted a close contest into three points. The result follows a 1–1 home draw against Levante and a 1–0 away defeat against Atlético Madrid in the club’s recent league record.

The points also separate the teams more clearly. Europa Press’s pregame briefing placed both clubs on 11 points entering the fixture. The victory moves Deportivo to 14, while Osasuna remain on 11, a three-point difference created by their direct meeting.

Osasuna lose a lead on the road

Jagoba Arrasate’s pregame assessment had called for Osasuna to sustain their level away from home. He described Deportivo’s fluid positioning and technical ability as problems his side needed to manage, while also asking for a stronger attacking threat.

Budimir’s opening goal gave Osasuna the lead they wanted, but they did not preserve it. The defeat means the next league fixture becomes an opportunity to respond to a result that changed direction in the second half.

Osasuna’s official schedule lists a home game against Athletic Club on November 7. Deportivo’s next league fixture is away to Espanyol on the same date. Continue following LaLiga and other competitions in Taken Social’s Sports section.
