Fabbian’s header, an own goal and Lontani’s finish settled the match, while Daffara protected Parma’s clean sheet.

Two goals after halftime settle the match
Fabbian headed in Sierro’s corner in the 41st minute. Atalanta had earlier seen Krstović’s finish disallowed for Zappacosta’s offside.
Zappacosta diverted Touré’s cross into his own net in the 47th minute while trying to intercept ahead of Lontani. Lontani then found the bottom corner from distance in the 58th, putting Parma three clear before the hour.
The official Atalanta report also describes a busy evening for Daffara. He denied Zalewski before halftime and saved from Rowe, Krstović and Bernasconi after the break. Pašalić’s 79th-minute header grazed the crossbar, but Atalanta could not pull a goal back.
Parma end a damaging away run
The victory ended Parma’s six-match Serie A away losing streak, a sequence documented in the league’s match preview. Their last positive league result on the road had been a 1–0 win at Udinese on April 18.
Alberto Gilardino’s side had collected just one point from their previous four league games, scoring once and conceding eight. Monday’s three goals therefore exceeded their attacking return across those four matches combined. The clean sheet also gave them successive shutouts in the league.
Parma had drawn 0–0 with Udinese on October 28. That night, Adrián Bernabé’s penalty was saved by Maduka Okoye, denying the hosts a chance to turn a scoreless match into a victory. In Bergamo, they converted their breakthrough into a much larger advantage.
Atalanta face a quick response
For Atalanta, the defeat extended a winless sequence to five official matches. The league’s briefing had also identified nine consecutive games without a clean sheet before Parma’s visit; that run now stands at ten.
Those figures give Maurizio Sarri two connected problems ahead of a crowded week. Atalanta need a better return from their attacking opportunities while containing opponents more consistently. Another three goals conceded leaves the defensive concern unresolved.
Atalanta’s schedule includes Conference League opposition Kairat on November 5 and a Serie A visit to Monza on November 8. Parma host Bologna on November 7. Follow the league in Taken Social’s Sports section.
